2013 I chaired the search committee charged with finding a new Assistant Professor of Clarinet. I

organized all of the committee meetings and assigned duties to each member. I organized the

phone interviews as well as the in-person interviews of the finalists for the position. Our hire, Dr.

Simmons, has been a great addition to the faculty.

Recruiting

 

2012-16 I have made multiple recruiting trips to high schools in South Florida and Central Florida where I

gave clinics, lessons and performed for the students.

 

2015 I gave clinics and performed at Matanzas High School.

 

2015 I worked at the UNF booth at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts’ College Night where I talked to

many prospective students.

 

2014 I gave a big band clinic at Tarpon Springs High School.

 

2014 I performed and gave a clinic at Osceola School of the Arts.

 

2013 I coached small groups at New World School of the Arts.

 

2013 I performed with the UNF Faculty Jazz Ensemble at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.

 

2012 I gave a clinic at Dillard High School on mastering time feel in jazz.

 

2012 I gave a clinic on improvisation at New World School of the Arts.

 

2012 I performed and gave a clinic with Professor Lynne Arrialle at Palm Beach State College.
